My live journal is used for both fannish and personal posts. The personal posts are, invariably, f-locked. Fannish posts that are a) purely fannish and b) potentially of general interest are public. My completed stories, icons and episode notes, as well as any meta-fannish observations and discussions, are *always* posted publicly. (I sometimes post story drafts in f-locked posts, but those are just roughs anyway.) Just in case you wandered in here completely by accident all of my stories deal with gay sex, gay romance or both and most of them are sexually explicit. So I'd have to say this LJ is adults only.

| Unfinished ficlet: SPN/Addams Family |

I feel tired and sluggish. My brain doesn't want to move. I'm reading and watching too much TV so it doesn't have to. Yesterday I watched the last five episodes of Prison Break, all because of a Michael/Alex vid that made me go, "Who are these men?" (My sincere love of prison AUs does not always translate to actually watching the shows.) Then I searched out the fic for that pairing. Sadly, that didn't take very long.
I should be working on the LMFAwards but I don't want to. I am procrastinating like mad. Hence amusing myself with crack crossovers. I have a mad girlcrush on both Wednesday and Morticia so everyone else should too.
Title: The Strange Courtship of Sam Winchester Fandom: Supernatural/The Addams Family Pairing: Wednesday Addams/Sam Winchester Rating: PG Warnings: Het. Odds on going any further with this: Not good A/N: Wednesday's away at college and living in a local haunted house that her father bought for her. He spoils her so. Also, the year is almost up and Sam is worrying himself sick about it. Summary: The Addams Family secret has kept them safe for centuries. It might save Dean, if Sam can persuade them to part with it.

Last night was a rather anti-climactic end to the fun and frolic of my birthday. It was very low-key. Thomas' day went downhill after lunch and he didn't get home until almost 7. My sweetie gifted me with Season 2 of Eureka and the new Get Fuzzy collection, Take Our Cat, Please!
We had a quiet evening at home, which suited me just fine. Mother Nature heeded my plea, for the most part, and let me enjoy the day without making me hurt.
I had a very good birthday this year.
Lunch with J today was of the tasty. We stopped by Wal-Mart after, but they didn't have what I'd gone there to get. Looking at my bags after I'd made my purchases I realized how strange it looked: A loaf of bread, a box of 100-Calorie Cinnamon Struesel Cakes, 2 boxes of hair color, and a curling iron. For some reason it struck me as wierd.
I did a little bit of housecleaning on my computer today. I only had about a gig of free space left on my harddrive, so I moved my music and my personal folder to my Firelite. I freed up about 33 GB on my harddrive. Maybe now it'll run a little faster.

See, it's like this. A week or so ago, cross_stitchery and I were chatting, and she dropped the idea into the conversation of how much fun a TS fusion with C J Cherryh's 'Morgaine' stories would be, with Jim in the Vanye role and Blair as Morgaine. With a few essential differences of course, and notable darkening of our anthropologist's character. And while I am not going to write it, I kept seeing what I guess would be the last scene of such a story in my head, so I got it out of my head by writing about 1,180 words of it.
If you're not familiar with The Gate of Ivrel have a Wikipedia link. If I took this any further I'd keep some aspects and play around with others. But as it is, plot bunny free to a good home.

I have had a fabulous birthday so far.
Thank you to sionnach_ayame, dmysinger, toimhseachan, [Unknown LJ tag], emeraldswan, and lzod for the birthday wishes. If I've forgotten anyone, mea culpa!
Carla made me two gorgeous headers. I'll have one of them up as soon as I change my layout. ( Aren't they beautiful? )
velvetwhip wrote me some fantabulous Willow/Angel angsty smut, Hanging On.
snogged wrote me a lovely little Willow/Angel piece, Dancing in the Mirror.
Last night L gave me the most adorable pepper plant. I have no idea if I can keep it alive, but I'll give it a shot. ( Idn't it cute? )
J picked me up this morning and we headed out to Ft. Sam to drop of L's computer. The guys were done with classes for the day, so the four of us went to Chester's Hamburgers for lunch. Yummy! These burgers are huge, so Thomas and I split one and an order of fries. J and L did the same.
( more b-day talk )
I'm not sure if Thomas has anything planned tonight, but I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever we do.

My body quit hating me as the day went on. Yay! We lazed around and snuggled and watched movies until it was time to get ready for dinner. I looked good tonight. My frivilous, highly impractical heels looked smashing with my new jeans and shirt, and my hair and makeup came out really well.
We just got home from my b-day dinner. Our reservations were for 6:15pm. We had a bit of a night, but it was all good. One of the people joining us got lost and wound up on the opposite side of the city from where we were and it took her a while to get to us. It worked out for the best though. We went ahead and ordered an appetizer and soup while we waited for L and it had time to settle so we were ready for our entrees by the time she got there. Our server rocked the Kasbah. We were his only table and he sat down and chatted with us while we waited. When L called to tell us she was still lost, he got on the phone and tried to get her back on track. He took a liking to L's voice and flirted heinously. He even wrote her a message on the tablecloth and left her his phone number. She was a very good sport about it. He's a gamer, so he talked games with the boys and we talked comic books and movies.
He comped us most of the alcohol that we had. I actually caved and had a glass of wine with dinner, a Penfolds Shiraz/Cabernet. It wasn't bad, but I think I like the Alice White Shiraz better. I got carded. I can't remember the last time I got carded. He danced and sang for me, too. Hee! It was hilarious. J videotaped it. I put a dollar in his pocket when he was done. He gave me a hug, too.
All in all it was a very fun, if long, evening.
J is picking me up around 11 tomorrow and taking me out to lunch.
This is kind of fun, spreading my b-day out over a couple of days. I get to open prezzies tomorrow. ::claps hands::

I wanted to get this posted before I forgot about most of it.
I had the car yesterday, so I was out and about. I went to Kohl's and returned the shoes that I got a couple of weeks ago. After wearing them around the house, I realized that they weren't very comfortable, so I took them back. While I was there, I found a pair of capris that had to come home with me. They're adorable.
After I got done at Kohl's I had lunch at Firehouse Subs. Meh. They use honey ham and I don't like that, so my sandwich was not that good.
Then I went to the movies. Saw Mama Mia! Loved it! I like the stage production better, but they did a good job with it. There's one scene that guaranteed me buying the dvd when it comes out.
After the movie I went to Old Navy and found a pair of brown ballet flats and a jean jacket. Then I went to Wal-Mart and found a pair of black ballet flats. Yay! I finally accomplished my mission of finding the ballet flats I wanted. I also got a pair of highly impractical and totally frivolous high heels. They're purple and they're gorgeous and I'm wearing them to dinner tomorrow night for my birthday celebration.
Thomas and I went to the movies last night. He had a hankering to see Iron Man again and who am I to say no to that? The theater was a disappointment, but I still love that movie to pieces.
I transferred half of Kindred: The Embraced to dvd today. I kind of like the show. It's a shame it didn't last longer. Thomas was avoiding studying this morning so we got caught up on Burn Notice. I got to watch MS again and then was pleasantly surprised to see Max Martini guesting in the next ep. Whee! I adore him being a badass. ::looks at icons:: Huh. I don't have any of my Max icons loaded anymore. Might have to remedy that.
We're meeting L,J, and the boys in the morning around 10 to go to the zoo. Then we're meeting them and two others around 6:15 for dinner. I'm looking forward to it.
I leave you with that movie meme going around. I nicked it from emeraldswan.

Life has been hectic in small ways, so no writing got done this week.
While I haven't written much, I do have plot bunnies taking shape for three out of my four Moonridge prompts. I'm sure something will come for number four too.
There are a couple of pics under the cut, taken when I took Madame La Teen on a field trip for her biology course. ( Some nice soothing pictures )

Landscapers outside your door at 8 freaking o'clock in the morning is not a fun way to wake up, 'specially if you've slept like crap the night before.
To make myself feel better, I am doing memes nicked from many on my flist:

| I Kissed A Girl- Katy Perry |
|
I got up at another ungodly hour this morning to take Thomas in so I could have Annabelle. I needed to finish grocery shopping. I had pieces of meals, but not enough to put together a whole dinner. Mission accomplished! And we sampled the wares this evening. We had pan-seared steaks, sauteed veggies (purple onion, mushrooms, zucchini, yellow squash), and whole wheat parmesan couscous. It was yummy!
I stopped by Best Buy before groceries and picked up Season 2 of Supernatural, the Nick Cage movie Next, and two CDs: One of the Boys by Katy Perry and Rock N Roll Jesus by Kid Rock. Yeah, I know, I bought a Kid Rock CD. The mind boggles. But! When he sings, I quite like him, and he sings on this album. All Summer Long and Blue Jeans and a Rosary are prolly my favourites, but I haven't heard the whole disc yet.
I also took my LB jeans into the tailor's. They'll be ready next week.
Thomas asked me today what I would like to do for my birthday. I'm thinking maybe the zoo and dinner at Macaroni Grill. If the weather doesn't cooperate then it'll be a movie and dinner at Macaroni Grill. It's been rather wet the last couple of days and is supposed to continue through the week. I don't begrudge it, because we need it.
I need to redo my icons, but find the task to be rather daunting. It'll prolly get put off for a while longer. I'm updating the music on my phone right now.

I've been away from the 'puter for the last few days. Running errands, watching movies, transferring stuff to dvd, avoiding writing...that kind of thing. :)
Went shopping with J on Thursday. I swear, I'm gonna try really, really hard not to spend anymore money. ::looks around for the lightning about to strike:: I got a gorgeous outfit at, of all places, Macy's. I never shop at Macy's, because I usually can't afford it, but it was on sale and it made me happy. I got a pair of Levi's 529 jeans in a size 10! They make my butt look good. :p I can't find a picture of the sweater I got, but it's an egglpant purple, 3/4 sleeve, scoop-neck baby doll, with an attached white button-down collar and cuffs. It's the preppiest thing I own, but when I put it on I fell in love. I also found a pair of wide-leg embroidered jeans at Lane Bryant. It's verra strange, since my new Levi's are a 10 and the LB's are a 14, but they both fit really well. I need to have the LB jeans hemmed up, because at the moment I can sweep the floor with them. I'm looking forward to wearing them once I get that taken care of though. They're all manner of comfy and look really good with some of my new tops.
Went to the movies on Friday. Saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. It was good, made me cry more than the first one. Jesse Williams has beautiful eyes and Tom Wisdom can read to me anytime.
Thomas and I went out to dinner with one of his classmates last night. We had fun and will hopefully get to do it again sometime. She reminds me of Diane Farr.
I transferred the first six eps of season 2 of Burn Notice yesterday. EEEE!!! Michael Shanks on Burn Notice! Shirtless! ::squees like a squeeing thing:: He plays a not so good guy, but I like Victor a helluva lot more than Carla. Seriously, violently, dislike her. Hopefully we will be seeing more of him. He makes a good foil for Michael.
How much do I adore Michael Phelps? I haven't watched much of the Olympics, but I have been keeping up with the swimming. And Dara Torres winning the silver! I was also pretty chuffed about Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson going 1 and 2 in the all around for gymnastics.
I seem to remember promising y'all piccies from our day at the Natural Bridge Caverns. Keep in mind that I took these with my phone, okay?

I got the most delightful surprise in my email last night. You may remember that I had two claims in the auction: a Prison AU and a Alex Barnes/Naomi Sandburg femslash. It turns out there was a snafu and two people got the femslash claim. I think it's a really intriguing idea so I told Aly I'd pay for both of them. There was also someone who contacted me about the Prison AU and said she'd already started writing it. I had to tell her there was another person also interested and she should hold off until she knew if she got it. Turns out she ignored me and, boy howdy, am I ever glad she did!
She sent me the story last night. It's a whopper at 20,000 words and, even unbetaed, I could NOT stop reading until I finished. I opened it at midnight, finished at 1 a.m. and THEN I walked my dog. In Chicago. At 1 a.m. That's how much fun this story is.
( Spoilers for the set up but not the story line plus some squee! )
I'm sitting on my hands to avoid spoiling things any further although the above is simply set up, but when Darklady posts Sense of Justice you should definitely go read it! *goes back to page 1 and eagerly starts reading again*

This bit took longer, but it's about twice the usual chapter size because I wanted it all together.
This is a fairly archetypal story in some ways, and after a youth of Wild Kingdom and cheesy movies on tv on Saturday afternoons, I'll admit that I felt that I had to have a giant snake in here somewhere. It's the Amazon and it's the nineteenth century. Man vs animal, etc etc. In brief, I really wanted an anaconda. But as I regularly bitched to EE and Elaine, I did not want a gratuitous anaconda. In seeking to avoid the gratuitous anaconda I may have committed other sins, such as stereotypes of superstitious foreigners etc. Your opinions are appreciated.
All's Fair, J/B slash, AU, 3,200 words approx, PG for violence and bigotry and superstition and such-like disturbing things. ( Onwards to all sorts of bad things for our heroes )
